Carers, families, and people of all abilities are discovering a new way to enjoy the coast with Bay Island Lifestyle, a Redlands-based tourism business dedicated to making water sports and nature adventures accessible for everyone.
At the heart of their approach is the Aqua Accessibility Trailer — a mobile hub that brings adaptive kayaks, beach wheelchairs, beach matting and Mega SUPs (giant stand-up paddleboards) to beaches and waterways across Brisbane and beyond. These wide, stable boards act like floating platforms, allowing carers and participants to paddle together, rest side by side, or simply share the joy of being on the water.
Bay Island Lifestyle’s team combines professional training with lived experience, ensuring that visitors feel supported, respected, and at ease. Guests can pre-communicate their needs through digital accessibility tools such as the Cérge Companion App, reducing stress on carers and creating a more personalised, dignified welcome.
Back on shore, visitors can enjoy freshly made barista coffee, cold drinks, and snacks overlooking the foreshore at Raby Bay — a relaxed spot to rest, connect, and take in the view.
This spring also marks an exciting milestone: the launch of Bay Island Lifestyle’s new accessible eco-tour boat, The Tubby Mermaid, on 27 September at Cleveland’s Raby Bay Foreshore Park, Masthead Beach.
With highly rated experiences on TripAdvisor and a growing reputation for inclusive tourism, Bay Island Lifestyle is proving that outdoor adventure truly belongs to everyone.
For guests, it is more than an outing — it is a chance to create memories, build confidence, and find their happy place by the bay. Visit us in person at the 2025 Care Expo Brisbane at Site P165.
